Behnke helps No. 3 ranked Golden Bears
Eagan high school grad Amanda Behnke is leading the No. 3 ranked Concordia University-St. Paul Golden Bears this season. The senior center was the NSIC preseason Player of the Year in 2006-07 and has reached 20 points seven times this season. Most recently scoring 23 points in an 83-79 overtime win over Winona State. She leads the team in scoring averaging 17.7 points per game and rebounds with 8.2 per game.
Recruiting seminar set for February
JumpForward.com is hosting an athletic recruiting informational session from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Feb. 18 at Burnsville High School. The website is a communications platform that streamlines the entire athletic recruiting and communications process between student athletes and college coaches.
Kettlebells workout set
at Metcalf
Kettlebells: Russian Fitness Weight Routine, a one-session workout class for those who want to tone or lose weight, will be offered Feb 9 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Metcalf Junior High School. Cost of the class is $39, which includes use kettlebells weights. dancing class set for Jan. 29
Zumba, a fitness dancing class with a Latin and international flair, will be offered by ISD 191 (Burnsville-Eagan-Savage) Adult Continuing Education beginning Jan. 29 from 6 - 7 p.m., in the Great Room at Diamondhead Education Center (200 W. Burnsville Parkway, Burnsville). Cost of the nine session class is $72. To register online, go to website: www.communityed191.org. District 191 to offer ski class on Jan. 25-26
ISD 191 (Burnsville-Eagan-Savage) is offering a two-part cross country class on Jan. 25 and 26. On Jan. 25 the group will meet at Terrace Oaks Chalet from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. to go over proper clothing and equipment; how to select wax and care for skies and basic information on cross country ski techniques. On Jan. 26 the group will meet at Alimagnet Park for an outdoor lesson from either 10 a.m. to noon or 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Burnsville nordic head coach Bruce Morissette will lead the courses.
Cost for the lesson is $39 or $69 per pair with rentals $6.25 for adults and $3.25 for those under 13 years old. For more information and to register online logon to www.communityed191.org.
