Private funeral and burial services will be held for Spc. Sean K. McDonald, 21, of Rosemount, who died March 25 in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle.

Sean was born in Burnsville on Dec. 25, 1985, to parents Russell and Marleen.

He attended fifth and sixth grade at Valley Middle School in Apple Valley. After that he moved to the Netherlands where he lived until he enlisted in the Army at age 18. He was stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany. He has a sister, Jessica, who lives in Rosemount.
