Fourth-grade art students in Robbie Haase's class at Meadowview Elementary School created clay dragons Wednesday as the class studies art history and art influences throughout the world. Kyle Kratz (left) and Jimmy Seeley, are busy creating clay masterpieces to later be glazed and painted. The clay dragons show the children's expressions of cultural forms and historical traditions from the late Barbaric and early Medieval European periods.

Students learn art principles of unit, balance and repetition and have fun sculpting the wet clay.
