Golf is E-Z lessons
Golf is E-Z Lessons will be offered at Chalet Golf (11937 Highway 35W, Burnsville). The three-session golf lesson dates and times are as follows:
ï Mondays and Wednesday, May 16, 18 and 23, 7 to 8 p.m.
ï Mondays and Wednesday, June 6, 8 and 13, 6 to 7 p.m.
ï Mondays and Wednesday, June 6, 8 and 13, 7 to 8 p.m.
ï Saturdays, June 11, 18 and 25, 10 to 11 a.m.
ï Mondays and Wednesday, June 20, 22 and 27, 6 to 7 p.m.
ï Mondays and Wednesday, June 20, 22 and 27, 7 to 8 p.m.

Participants will learn the basics of grip, putting, chipping and, most important of all, hitting the ball long and straight. Practice tips, course management and etiquette will also be part of the fun learning experience.
Eric Barrilleaux, golf coach, is an accomplished golf instructor and golfer. He is a certified master teacher with the Professional Golf Teachers Association of America and has invented a PGA Tour Partners Club approved golfing aid. Barrilleaux has taught in Minnesota, California, Louisiana and Pennsylvania.

EVHS soccer camp
The Eastview Lightning Youth Soccer camp for boys will be held June 2-20 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. The camp is for boys in grades 3-8 for the 2005 school year. The camp will promote the game of soccer and the importance of technical and tactical training, self-discipline and teamwork in a safe, fun environment, allowing players to develop to their fullest potential. Registration is limited. The camp will be run at the Eastview training grids and fields at the intersection of 140th Street and Johnny Cake Ridge Road. The cost is $50 if postmarked by June 1 and $60 if postmarked after June 1. DCTC baseball camps
The Dakota County Technical College is holding youth and advanced summer baseball camps. The youth camp will run from May 29-30 from 9 a.m. to noon. The camp is for players ages 7-12 and costs $45.
The advanced camp is for ages 13-18 on June 20-21 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and costs $70.

Lakeville boys' hoops camps
Lakeville North High School varsity boys' basketball coach John Oxton and his staff will be conducting basketball camps this summer for boys in grades K-9 (2004-05 school year). Lakeville football sign-ups
The Lakeville Football Association is offering tackle football for grades 3-6 and flag football for grades 1-2. The sign-up dates are Wednesday, May 18 from 6 to 9 p.m., Saturday, May 21 from 9 a.m. to noon and Wednesday, May 25 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Century Junior High School Cafeteria.
Youth Golf Clinic at Brackett's
The third annual Panther Youth Golf Clinic will be held on Monday, June 20 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Brackett's Crossing Country Club for boys and girls ages 9-12. The equipment needed is golf clubs and tennis shoes.
The clinic is limited to the first 60 kids and costs $60. The instructors will be Steve David PGA Head Golf Professional at Brackett's Crossing, Bob Kovich, Lakeville boys head coach, Jon Cochrane, Lakeville assistant golf coach and the Lakeville boys' golf team.

Tennis league for women
The Burnsville, Eagan, Apple Valley Women's Tennis League (B.E.A.T.) will begin its 2005 season in June. Women 18 and older are invited to join. Singles and doubles leagues are available as well as mixed doubles. We offer leagues for beginners and advanced players. This is an inexpensive outdoor league open to women in the surrounding area. AV baseball tryouts
Player tryouts for summer Apple Valley baseball are scheduled for Sunday, May 8, at Legion Field.
The tryouts are for 16- to 19-year-olds who will play for Apple Valley American Legion, Eastview and Apple Valley Junior American Legion, or Eastview and Apple Valley Senior Babe Ruth baseball teams.
All players must live or attend school in the city of Apple Valley. The 16-year-old tryout is at 10 a.m. The 17-year-old tryout is at 12:30 p.m. and the 18, 19 and returning legion player tryout is at 3 p.m.
Players should report to the field approximately 15 minutes early for signup. Player's age is determined by age on Dec. 31, 2005.

Wildcat junior golf classic
The Eagan High School Boy's Golf Booster Club is sponsoring its fourth annual "Wildcat Junior Golf Classicî on Saturday, June 4, at Parkview Golf Club in Eagan. It's a shotgun start at 7 a.m. (rain or shine). Age groups are boys 10-12, girls 10-12, boys 13-14, and girls 13-14.
Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each of these groups. The registration fee is $35 if received before May 20, and includes 18 holes of tournament play golf, continental breakfast, lunch, and a gift bag including tournament T-shirt and photo bag tag for each golfer. Each group will play with a member of the Eagan High School golf teams.

Horseshoe pitchers wanted
Horseshoes is a fun sport for the entire family. Everyone from 5 to 90 will enjoy pitching horseshoes. The Minnesota Gopher State Horseshoe Pitchers Association is forming leagues around the state. Horseshoe pitching is a great family activity and is very economical.

Eastview tennis fund-raiser
Come and eat a delicious Italian dinner sponsored by the boys' and girls' tennis teams at Eastview High School. Briannos will cater the dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, in the High School commons prior to the BRAVO performance that evening. Mostaccioli, salad, bread, dessert and beverage are on the menu.
Tickets may be purchased from an Eastview tennis player or in the Eastview High School office. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for children. Help support the Eastview tennis teams.
Burnsville baseball tryouts
The 2005 summer season baseball tryouts for Burnsville Mickey Mantle, Junior American Legion, American Legion and Senior Babe Ruth are scheduled for Saturday, May 7, at Alimagnet Fields 1 and 2.
For 16-year-old Mickey Mantle and Junior American Legion the tryouts begin at 9 a.m. The American Legion and Senior Babe Ruth tryouts begin at 10 a.m. on Field 1.
If necessary, tryouts may continue to May 8.

Fun Run looking for help
The Eagan Fun Run is coming back for its 20th annual running celebration event. Enjoy a two- or five-mile run, two-mile fitness walk, ducky dash for children and more. There will be great health tips from local businesses, prizes and more. The Commons on Marice is also helping sponsor the event and National Senior Health and Fitness Day will be celebrated. Volunteers are needed to help with water stops, registration, assist runners at the finish line and more.
