Registrations for lacrosse
Registration dates have been set for the spring 2005 Lakeville lacrosse boys' and girls' season. Registration dates are Wednesday Jan. 26, from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 29, from 9 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, Feb. 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 5, from 9 a.m. to noon, all in the commons area at the Lakeville High School.
Teams being offered this year for the boys are varsity, junior varsity, B-team, junior high (7-8 grade) and elementary (4-6 grade). For the girls, varsity, junior varsity, a possible B-team, junior high (7-9 grade) and elementary (4-6 grade).
New boys' and girls' lacrosse players in 4th grade are eligible for free loaner sticks and protective equipment on a first-come, first-served basis. Supplies are limited to the first 14 requests. Signup forms will be at registration.
Lakeville lacrosse is also looking for adult coaches for the junior high and elementary teams. If you have any experience in lacrosse or are interested in learning your help is needed. Lacrosse is one of the fastest growing sports in Minnesota. Last year there were more than 300 players on 14 teams in Lakeville and those numbers are expected to grow this season.

Free throw contest in Eagan
The Faithful Shepherd Knights of Columbus is sponsoring a basketball free throw contest for girls and boys ages 10-14 Sunday, Jan. 16. The contest will be held at the Faithful Shepherd School gym in Eagan. The boys' competition will be held at 1 p.m. and the girls' competition will be held at 3 p.m. Contact Al Kramer at (651) 452-4616 for more information.
Hockey boys have fund-raiser
The Apple Valley boys' hockey team invites you to attend their annual spaghetti dinner fund-raiser at the Apple Valley American Legion, 14521 Granada Drive on Jan. 9 from 4 to 7 p.m. The cost is $6 per individual or $20 per family. LBA holding registrations
Lakeville Baseball Association will be holding registration for its Spring/Summer 2005 season starting on Wednesday, Jan. 26. Registration is for all players ages 4 through 18, including Senior Youth baseball. It will be held at the Lakeville High School in the Commons Area on the following dates: Wednesday, Jan. 26, from 6 to 8 p.m.; Saturday, Jan. 29, from 9 a.m. to noon; Wednesday, Feb. 2, from 6 to 8 p.m., and Saturday, Feb. 5, from 9 a.m. to noon. BAC players admitted free
All BAC players wearing their basketball jerseys are admitted free to the Burnsville High Schoolİboys' basketball game Friday, Jan. 14. The Minnesota Timberwolves' mascot Crunch will be there also. The opponent is the Eagan Wildcats. The BHS Pep Band will be İperforming İthat evening.
Free throw contest
All area youths ages 10 to 14 are invited to participate in the Lakeville contest for the 2005 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship. Boys and girls will compete in respective age divisions. The contest will be held Friday, Jan. 14, Prior to the girls' varsity game against Bloomington Kennedy at the Lakeville gym.
Register at any time from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The contest runs between 6 to 7:30 p.m.
The Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship is sponsored annually with winners progressing through local, district, and state competitions. This year's state championship will take place at Target Center before the Timberwolves game March 20 against the Houston Rockets.
Last year more than 250,000 sharpshooters participated in over 4,000 local competitions. All contestants are recognized for their participation. Rosemount hosting SoccerFest
SoccerFest, which involvesİsome ofİthe high school soccer playersİin the district, is scheduled for Jan. 22, from noon to 4 p.m. at the new Irish Sports Dome behind the Rosemount Community Center.
The purpose of this SoccerFest is to help spread the interest of soccer in the local community and to create a carnival type atmos‚phere for all kids ages 14 and younger. For a $10 fee at the door (groups of five or more will get a $2 discount), the kids can walk around from station to station "testingî their soccer skills and getting autographs, prizes, candy, and winning raffle tickets.

Adapted tumbling in Eagan
Get into the roll of things this winter with adapted tumbling! Youth ages 3-5 will enjoy a seven-week program focusing on large motor skills beginning Jan. 9. RAVE girls' lacrosse meeting
RAVE girls' lacrosse will hold an informational meeting for parents and players at Eagan Civic Arena on Sunday, Jan. 9 at 3 p.m. Information will be provided about lacrosse and the 2005 season.
