Applause brings cartoon to stage

Applause Community Theater will present ìSchool House Rock,î a pop-culture phenomenon, on the musical stage.
The 1970s Saturday-morning cartoon that taught history, grammar, math, science and politics through clever songs is now lighting up the stage. The Applause production will feature classic numbers, including ìJust a Bill,î ìDo the Circulation,î ìConjunction Junctionî and many more.
The show is good, clean, educational fun for children and reminiscing adults as well.
ìSchool House Rockî opens March 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the Lakeville Area Arts Center in downtown Lakeville. There will also be performances March 12, 13, 20, 26 and April 3 at 7:30 p.m.; March 28 at 6 p.m.; and March 14, 21, 27 and April 4 at 2 p.m. The March 21 show will be signed for the hearing impaired.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students and seniors, and $7 for groups of 10 or more purchased in advance.
