In a rematch of last year's Section 1AAA semifinal, Lakeville came out on top this time 1-0 over Farmington.

Lakeville scored its run in the bottom of the third. Shortstop Bailey Jelles started the inning with a single and Kelly Vivant's sacrifice bunt moved Bailey to second. Junior catcher Erica Wolner hit an RBI single scoring Bailey from second.Ý

"It was a well-played defensive game with both teams having limited scoring chances,î Lakeville coach Randy Schmitz said. "It was a good win for us because it was a close game against Farmington, who is a great team, and they are in our section and their pitcher is outstanding.

"So hopefully this game may be a confidence builder that will help us as the season progresses.î

Junior pitcher Shelly Wolf got the win pitching five and two-thirds innings striking out seven, allowing four hits and no walks.

Farmington's Erin Leone had nine strikeouts.

Lakeville has had a tough schedule so far this season, with a 3-1 record overall and 2-1 in the Lake Conference.

Rohr pitched five one-third innings striking out nine and allowing just two hits.Ý

"On defense we struggled, committing five errors,î Schmitz said.
